well to my knolage 89 is the most compatable. 88 is the lightest of the bunch. I wouldint get a 90 or 91 cause they have non needed crap like auto seatbelts. also the 90-91 are a little diffrent in the wireing and plugs. for ex. the timing jumper is under pass. dash where as on 88-89 it's on driver fender wall.
i have a 91 sedan auto
and it's just under 2400.
i know of 88 sedans in the 1900-2000 range. the 89 is the most flexable IMO.

so do u have a 4DR EF yet or just asking to see which one to look for??
and the motor get the 97 JDM spec one if not try to find a USDM 98-00 ITR
and just get a jumper w/p28 ecu alot easier to tune and less problems then OBD2 or OBD2a/b
if u have anymore question ask
we 4DRs like to share and welcome new members

u can do a hydro swap and put a hydro trany in with a clutch master clyender. it's kinda tough though and IMO not worth it.

OBD 1 is a simpe ~8 wire addition when using a coverstion harness to easy it up. about 4 sensors and a 4 wire O2. Trust me. dont even look at OBD2 WAY TO MUCH CRAP for emisions. ur looking at ~ 20 new sensors + what u have and too restrictive in emmisions IMO DONT DO IT!
