Will changing the FD affect the dyno result?
I was just wondering will switching stock FD to JDM FD have any difference on dyno? Is the whp (or torque to be more precise) measured from dyno indepedent from the gear multiplier in the transmission? Thanks in advance

You have to enter the FD and the gear ratio in the dyno computer...... The Dyno will compensate the FD effect....
IMO, new FD will have very minial effect, if at all.
Just imagine the scenario... changing your rim+tire package to a larger/smaller size. The dyno might be off by 1-2 whp, but nothing significant.

I'm still a little confused about the process, but apparently a Mustang Dyno is NOT affected by things like gearing, lighter wheels, etc. becuase it is a power absorption brake dyno. A dynojet is an accelerometer (again, to my knowledge, which could be flawed), and like a GeTech G-meter, one would assume that anything that allows the car to spool up faster, like shorter gearing, smaller diameter wheels, lighter wheels etc. would affect the end result. The Dynojet measures acceleration and translates it to power. The Mustang measures power directly, and so is more consistent. I would love a definitive confirmation of this however..anyone?
I've heard that it does affect it too...WHF? How could that be a reliable way to determine horsepower if a fianl drive screws with the numbers?
