i kinda have that setup, if you're going NA you definatley need higher compression pistons otherwise you'll lose performance due to losing compression. cam gears are a must when you do this swap otherwise you might even be slower than how you started off.... you'll also probably need a new ecu, try to get a type r ecu since you're obd2. i had to get a reprogrammed one since im obd2... in the end you should be happy with your results as long as you do it right.

this sounds complicated. Why would you do this? Just get more aggressive cams, gears and get them tuned. If you want, then change the springs and raise the rev limiter. I can't see how this would be slower than some backwards hybrid swap.

Then again, I know nothing, so I'm probably wrong.

The reason i'm doing this is because i over rev my engine and the dealer saying nothing is wrong with it. and that's bs, so since they do not want to fix why should i buy the same thing. I should go the best.

your car is going to be slower with that head on it. compresson is going to be low enough that you can run 87 octane gas at redline and not get a knock. You will need to do the pistons if you put a ITR head on your car unless you want it to be slow.

You could also purchase a spoon or mugen head gasket to bring compression back up to about 10.0:1 or 10.1:1. The GS-R head has a smaler combustion chamber that causes overall compression to be about .3 points above a type r head. A mugen or spoon head gasket raises compression by about .3 or .4 points, so that would clear that compression issue up for you. High compression pistons would definitely benefit you down the road to extract the full potential of that setup. HTH.
