Freakin !@#$!@#$ Why does it have to be so difficult?
I'm trying to replace my cat so I can pass emissions.
Everything down there is completely rusted together. Air gun is useless. Worked on one bolt. Now I'm down there trying to cut the other 2 bolts off.
Why didn't I take it to a shop? Well, they wanted $70 just to bolt the new one in, which I already have.
On top of this, I'm practically on my death bed from being sick (yeah I'm a wuss) so it just amplifies all my frustration.

Yeah I've realized that. But me being in TX (and usually not having any rust problems) and doing this exact same job probably 10 times over the past 6 years on various cars I assumed it would be the same.
I can't imagine what it's like doing undercar work for you northern guys

unbolt your b-pipe, take off some hangers, and drop the exhaust to an easier working height. I was frustrated with mine, droppes it a foot, and was done 10 mins later

I put a closed end wrench on it and slid a jack under the wrench. JAck jack jack - pop! I would not like having a job where all I would do is break those bolts free. That would suck... even if I was paid $500 a bolt. That would be cool for a month or two and then it would just SUCK.

well the top bolt is very slightly stripped....I used a ton of PB Blaster, heat, and the air gun. Even with the right size socket, the air gun just folded over all the corners of the nut. GRR.
This is the second post I put this link in today.

Yep...i do that everytime. Also, when reinstalling everything, be sure to use anti-seize on ALL the bolt threads.
