Default 10k+ redline possible?

I was wondering if a honda motor could be modified to have a 10,000 plus RPM redline? And still be driveable ect. Thanks

Yes its possible, but there is no point if your car is not making power revving that high

Is it possible to rev that high and make power? If so how? Im looking in to getting a hatch soon. Was set on a GS-R swap but then I was watching a video of people racing on the track and this guy had like a 10.5k redline, just wondering if a build like this is possible and if it was would be really fun to drive

Thanks

It depends on your set-up (Valvetrain, cams, etc.) Its possible and would be fun but remember, the higher you rev your motor the shorter its lifespan gets. RPM = Ruins Peoples Motors

Im going to safely say that 10k isnt an rpm range which you spend a lot of time at while driving around town...

Build a motor to make usable power that will best suit your driving needs...

I just recently built the B18C1 in my hatch. Details aside, my redline is at about 9200rpms. My peak power is at 8250, but it levels out...it's still useful.

The problem with wanting monster rpms, other than the fact that you'll trash the motor, is that you really can't use it. With the stock gearing, you going way to fast in first gear driving around town.

It's smarter to build with torque in mind. Yes, when I get on it, it's a total blast. The engine sounds sweet and it's nuts to see the tach run out of numbers However, I hardly every pass 6k during normal driving.

Since I knew I would be driving casually more than all out, I picked out parts that would give me useful power. My torque jumps up 125ish fl-lbs at 4500 rpms, stays pretty much steady and tops out at 132 ft-lbs. To me, that's useful. Peaking out at 9k or higher with nothing below that is just a waste of time and money.

Anyway, yeah, it would be fun. Totally impractical.
