JDM D-series intake manifold install
My bro just got a JDM D-series intake manifold and is wanting to install it on his 89 Civic DX Sedan. The 89 DX has Dual Point injection instead of 4 injectors, so will any extra parts be needed for the install? Will he need a different ECU?

Yes and yes. He is doing what is referred to as a DPFI to MPFI conversion.
You should be able to find plenty of information on this conversion with the search, and in the FAQ threads at the top of the forum.

Here is a list of parts you'll need:
<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote »</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">- PM6 ECU
- PM6 distributor
- Si intake manifold with all sensors (intake air temperature, IACV, TPS, etc.)
- Si fuel rail, fuel injectors, & injector resistor
- Si wiring harness (for the plugs)
- Si throttle cable (not absolutely necessary, but it makes the install cleaner)
- New intake manifold gasket (plus new gaskets for any parts that have been removed from the manifold)
- If the manifold has been sitting for a while, you may need new injector seals
You'll also need to modify or replace your intake tube.</TD></TR></TABLE>
If you got the complete intake manifold, it should already have all of the necessary sensors.
