Default adding cd changer to 98 Accord

I'm new to the board and this has probably been covered, although I couldn't find it in the search files. I have the factory cassette player with the empty tray underneath. All I want to be able to do is put in a CD and play it, but retain the cassette player. I want to do it with the least expense possible, too. Can anyone tell me what I need to do? There is a lot of info out there, I know, but if you don't know much about electronics--like me--it is like a maze, so any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

You would be best off with finding a CD/cassette player. I dont think you can split the harness to two headunits. However, if you wanted to try, you could only send power to one. So you could try like, splitting all the harness wires to 2 harnesses and installing a switch to route power....get a CD cassette player.

does the factory cassette player have buttons to control a cd player? if it does, you can get an alpine cd changer, and an adapter to connect it directly to your deck. (honda audio equipment is made my alpine)

This is a really, and I mean REALLY ghetto way to do it. What you could do is buy a portable (Walkman style) CD player and then get an adapter that goes into the casette deck (it's like a blank casette), this will allow you to play back CDs as you normally would. It takes up the CD player and the cassette deck to play a CD though, if that matters at all. I remember having to do this waaaaaaaay back in the day when I first got my car/walkman, lol.

Most people will laugh at this method but it works. And remember I said it's REALLY ghetto in advance...so no flames.
