Depends on the output from the DVD Deck. If the dvd deck has RCA Video out then yeah it would work no problem...

If the laptop has RCA video out which some do. I know some dells came with a cable that provided RCA and SVIDEO out and some toshibas had an actual RCA jack. It would most likely become the only display (depends on the laptop) so I was going to hide the laptop under the seat and just mount this under my radio so I could watch what was going on.
