Is it ok to grind off the valve guide to make it flush with the port? or will it make the valve train unstable at higher RPM?

Is this a full race head or for a street car?

You CAN do it,but there's really no reason to.It doesnt increase flow that much.Ive done it on a few of my heads in the past and really and no adverse effects. Those engines revved to 9k+ rpm all of the time and had no problem.People used to do it all of the time because they were lazy and didnt want to spend the extra time porting around them.

Ive known many that have run heads with flush guides on both street and strip aplication with no problems at all...

Ive seen anywhere from a 5-10 CFM increase when done properly...
