The biggest weight gain resulted from Honda's decision to go with door mounted seatbelts. Now the seatbelts themselves don't add alot of weight. But the bracing of the doors does. Think about it. With the seatbelts mounted on the doors, the doors have to be reinforced so that they won't crunch like a beer can should you be thrown foreward in an accident.

or for those not in the states: the siR front end is completely different (I'm talking about suspension, not the looks in this case) and that's a lot heavier as well... not to mention the b16...

there's not too much difference in european crx's between the 88 and 90 models... but then again: we only have 2 models here... the si (w/ factory ZC) and the VT (aka siR)

sunroof (including the sunroof motor), a/c or no a/c, smaller front brakes, drum brakes, 1.5 motor, 1.6 motor, bracing in the doors, rear wiper and wiper motor

thats all I can think of thats why the HF is the lightest because it lacks all the extra **** and the Si is the heaviest because it has all the ****

Also, no sound deadening, insulation, or underhood insulation, HF has lighter seats, no cargo cover, and the HF has aluminum in places where the DX and Si has steel (engine brackets for wires, cables etc.)
