I had a new clutch put into my '00 GS-R. It's been about a month and, oh, 500 miles. A couple days ago, it suddenly lost that 'pop' you get when you engage the clutch, when you feel it catch. The catch point got "soft." It's gotten a little better since, but still, about half the times I shift, I don't feel that nice, clean kick when I let up on the clutch. I have to admit, I wasn't good about breaking in the new clutch gently, but would that make a difference? Oh, and SC and MC are also new.

Yeah i just put an ACT heavy duty clutch in my ls and i noticed the same thing. I think it is just the clutch breaking in because when i redline my car and shift real fast i can feel the pop but when daily driving changing at low rpms it is extremly smooth. Everyone i have asked about it says its fine and just the clutch broken in.
