Default Anyone using the Cusco Brake Stopper (or similar)?

Is anyone here using the Cusco Brake stopper on their ITR? I keep hearing different things from different sources. One person tells me that they work fine on ITRs, another person tells me that they dont work on most ABS equipped cars, including the teg. Anyone know whether it works on the ITR or not?

Just checking to see if you have a source for the brake stopper. I had a website a few weeks ago, but can not find it now. It was takakria or something like that. I want to get one for my 93 Sol.

yeah they have it at takakaira, but not for the ITR. Plus they have a note about how the brake stopper may not work on some ABS equipped cars. But I have seen some people use the brake stopper on their ITRs, just need to know if it works or not.

Im not too sure on this but apparently its a brace that prevents firewall flex when braking, and hence reduces pedal effort. It feels like you have braided lines.

I don't understand, pedal feel is a function of hydraulic pressure, not chassis flex. And if it only a brace, why wouldn't it work with ABS?

Sorry didn't think I could explain it well enough. Here's what's on Takakaira:

"During hard braking while sport driving will twist the toe board where the brake master cylinder is located, and resulted in decreased brake pedal effort. With the installation of the bracket/stopper kit to the strut tower, the front & back motion of the brake master cylinder is fixed, resulting in increased brake stopping operation."

So I guess it prevents the master cylinder from moving while braking, how that helps braking im not sure, but im pretty sure it feels a bit more solid when braking.

These things are normally called master cylinder braces. They are designed to stop the master cylinder from flexing under hard braking which should improve pedal feel and thus the ability to modulate the brakes. I cannot see how ABS is relevant.

Why not just get SS lines?

The Cusco master cylinder brace only fits JDM (right hand drive) cars.

Yeah, I think Ben Tang knows all too much about not being able to fit the Cusco Master Brake Cylinder Stopper on his car

If you have ever watched your master cylinder while someone is pressing
the brake pedal then you would see why its helpful. The MC will move at least
half an inch or more.

Why hasnt someone found one for US cars yet?? I want one!!!

EP, did you drill new holes on the brace itself or on the car? I have the Spoon brace too, haven't installed it though.

We actually have our test piece coming to us So MC Braces will be available soon for LHD Cars, they will be close to the Cusco style.

I have one fitted to my RHD ITR with ABS, it works fine and no problem, but I think the Cusco or Spoon brake stopper just fit RHD cars

Just checking to see where you got your Spoon brace. I have not found a place that sells them yet. I was just thinking about building my own. The design is very basic.
