Default heater core :(

I well i was drivin home from my dad's (15 min ride, where i was workin on the car).
The engine over heated, coolant was low and i eventually saw that for sum reson i removed one of the hoses that goes to the heater core(on the fire wall) when i put it back on i kindof bent/ crushed it a tiny bit(like before it was a circle and now it's a oval).
I found coolant inside my car on the floor.

I refilled the radiator w/ coolant and havent drivin it since, i still need to do sum other things to it.

could i have fucked up the heater core by doing this or could i just shape the metal pipe that the hose connects to (on the firewall) back to a circle and put the hose back on and be all good?

i did a lil searching and looks like i can just bend it back to shape and fix it up then put the hose back on, this shoudl work correct?
also any one know the best way to clean the coolant from the carpet? let it dry? i do have a vacum that washes carpets (w/ water and soap), should i use that?

Yeah just shampoo your carpet really good and don't lick it.
