I'm debating between an aem cold air intake or an aem short ram intake. I like the horses and fun sound the cai has, but i am worried about the water/rain problem. I found a guy that will sell his used cai to me for about 110 shipped. I heard the bypass valve is shitless, what are your guys' thoughts? Thanks

Water is going to be your biggest issue of course for CAI, but you can get generic pipes for alot cheaper then that, and even a generic air filter for and short ram for under 40 bucks, if you really want to make a CAI you can find a pipe and and connectors for another 10 maybe 15 bucks, but in the end with the bypass valve, if your going fast enough in the rain, it will pass over the bypass valve, not much you can really do about it in the end unless you have a relitively closed off wheel well, about the only other thing you can do if you dont go the CAI route is ceramic coat your header, or get a thermal wrap for your header, but thats about all you going to be able to do, i know with my short ram and the header i have its pretty hot in there, but i still have yet to cool it down under the hood.
