Is 5 Lug Conversion Worth the $$$
Well.. Me and my friend were having a conversation and I decided I would post up here and get opions.
I am doing a turbo setup on my civic and I want a little bit better stopping power. So I thought... well **** I can get 2 birds in one stone... 5 lug conversion!
1) Looks hella badass
2) Better stopping power
But is the stopping power really all that much better?
So I guess the question is would it be more worth my money to do a a big brake setup (Wilwood, AEM, etc.) and stick with my 15in black 4 lug Rota Slips or purchase a 5 lug conversion w/ GM ITR's wheels and save up for a big brake kit later on down the road.

I would be that "friend" ... they look tight, but are they really worth the money? Are the benefits really there? They are mad blingage, but kinda hard to swallow the price for one more stud ... and Modacar has Wilwood big brake setups for $710. So post up!
When I had the conversion on my 94 hatch, and compared it to my friends, I felt as if any of their cars had like 30% less stopping power, compared to mine. It looks tight, stops well, all in all...you pay for what you get.
If done right it will make difference in braking and feel. But then again for that money you could easily make your braking better on the four lug. But w/ five lug you will have choices of rims the four lug won't...

HAHAHA that was my point you dumbass! I said it was tight, but for the amount of money you spend and the benefits ... well ..
Set of Tein coilovers = ~$900?
Wilwood big brake kit = $700
---------------------------------------
bad *** suspension/brakes = $1600
It's a little more, but would kick ****.

then you have to worry (if you car about em) wheels. Nice *** brake setup w/some lame rota's
, I would personally pick up a set of some nice *** wheels to go with the brakes. Mugen-Gab-Sprinthart, etc. add about $1k+/- w/or w/out tires.

I was skeptical about doing a 5 lug swap on my car, but after I did it, its a huge difference in braking distance/effort compared to a stock. The car had 4 wheel disc already, but with the changeover, the car brakes so much better. Plus its bling 5 lug
But in reality, you can get the same effect of brakes from doing a caliper/rotor conversion. The downside to 5 lug is the weight, I believe is approximately 50lbs more than stock.

No i was actually thinking of a tight *** suspension setup .... some Zeal coilovers and my brake system all Endess or Mugen, and maybe going with some ADR rims ...
I didn't think i'd have to specify rims ... and whats bad about rotas? I don't have them .. but they look good, come in good finishes, come in the most popular wheel designs ever created, are light, cheap, and durable. Wow, they're not JDM or "uber rare", but who cares they look good.

Well after thinking... I guess I came up with some questions...
Will a big brake conversion fit inside my tiny little 15" wheels?
I am leaning towards 5 lug a lot. If I can get my 4lug si susp and rotas sold I will be good to go!
