Default Some insanely newbish questions....sorry guys :(

What upgrades can I do to my 93 prelude (s) before I swap the h22 in that will work with both engines?

Sorry again...but I had to post this somewhere..

K well, here's the story, I just bought a Honda Prelude today...1993 (S engine) and I have a few basic questions about it.

Question 1 : Approximately how much weight does a carbon fiber hood save? maybe 20 lbs
Question 2 : Approximately how much weight does a lightened fly wheel save?maybe 10 lbs
Question 3 : If I convert an automatic tranny to manual, is the car going to have severe problems?no as long as it's done right
Question 4 : Does the V2 Intake have a make for my specific prelude (93, s, automatic)no
Question 5 : You think nology hotwires will give me a better performance or increase in horses?no, stock ones are fine

I know I am rediculously newbish by asking these questions, but honestly, I do not know the answers to any of them...just let me know which question # you are answering and if you indeed do know the answer

Sorry again...but I had to post this somewhere..</TD></TR></TABLE>

read all the threads in the FAQ sticky at the top, then come back with questions

ill answer what i can...

#2. It depends on the weight of the new flywheel. I drive a 98 and my jun flywheel is 12 lbs., but you can get 8 lb ones as well.

#3 there is always a chance that something will go wrong. but if you or who ever is doing it is careful/knows what they are doing you should be fine.

#4 in my opinion it is not worth it to get any aem intake. go to ebay and buy a generic one and then go buy yourself a nice filter.

#5 dont have experience in this area but in my opinion, the only reason to get new wires is if the old ones are deteriorating.

hope this helps

K well, here's the story, I just bought a Honda Prelude today...1993 (S engine) and I have a few basic questions about it.

Question 1 : Approximately how much weight does a carbon fiber hood save? 20-30lbs? not sure exactly.
Question 2 : Approximately how much weight does a lightened fly wheel save? depends on how lightened it is. if you're lightening the stock fly, i would go easy, but a chromoly or aluminum replacement can save 8-12 lbs...
Question 3 : If I convert an automatic tranny to manual, is the car going to have severe problems? not if its done correctly
Question 4 : Does the V2 Intake have a make for my specific prelude (93, s, automatic) dunno...

nitrous or keep saving instead of wasting money on an engine
that you're replacing anyway.
