what paint should i use,how can i paint the trim chrome molding and remove it on my 00 4 door gsr,it sucks because 4 doors have chrome trim, i have a dark color scheme

 

you'd just have to sand down the chrome so your paint would adhere to the surface

 

I think that those moldings have a whitish plastic underneath so like metioned above strip off the chrome stuff because paint doesn't stick real well to that stuff. Get some 180 grit paper sand and finish sand with 320 grit and prime and sand with 320 and spray with a flexible trim paint.

 

duplicolor makes nice trim spray paints...their 'bumper spray' sticks to plastics and rubbers really well too

you should trade me your slipstreams for my blades so they match your current trim moldings.

 

first of all its not a gsr, the gsr didnt come with chrome moldings. the ls special edition did. dont pose bro. and for my ls i used flat black krylon. worked well

 

p.s. thats exactly how my car looks except i dont have the clear corners. and i have a spoiler

no, the gsr doesnt. my friend has a 01 4dr gsr and his doesnt and none of the other 4dr gsr's i ever seen has this. only the ls does

i recently did mines the other day...came out real good and looks oem too...heres what i did...

lightly sand the chrome trimming
clean and mask it off
i bought duplicolor bumper paint...it renews or replaces bumper trimming..and is pretty nicely color matched...looks like a flat black...
then spray away...i'll try to post up pics i need to borrow a USB cable from someone...
heres the paint i used but it was on the chrome trimming on my front grill...
