Who has a fast D16Z6 ALL-MOTOR?
Yeah the Gude head is nice and all but i'd rather spend 1300 on other things. Was it even close to passing smog?
I have a D16Z6 a 89 civic std. with 88 crx si tranny, intake, headers (stock dx exhaust piping) and vtec controller.
14.7@93 on BALD street tires. My tires were showing thread. I think if i get slicks, a cam, ignition, fuel pump, and a good exhaust I might be close. Does anyone have any suggestions to get into the 13s all motor? Thanks.

I agree .... i have a d16z6 also or actually it's a d16y8 the odd ball engine thats an older brother to the d16z6. it's a great everyday engine not a racing engine.

I heard there was some guy running 11's with a crx hf with the stock motor, all motor. Does anyone know if this is true and if so what are his set-ups? Also I've seen first hand two ef's with d16z6's run high 13s all motor in Sac. One was completely gutted with intake/headers/exhaust and slicks.

ill tell you why he is fast...... 1 secret thing which everyone over looks
he has a speciallized flux compactior.. no not that one that travels through time but the one that can reduce momentum so when he weighs his car its legal weight when he launches it and runs teh 1/4 mile the compacitor kicks in and then the weight is lost and momentum helps his car...
it might be along skinny rail under his car that flings a heavy weight forward ...its some weird space age crap

Actually Bisi's setup is common knowledge after a couple magazine articles on the car. D15 stroked to a 2.0L.

Yea that dude Bisi Eizihora or sumthin like that got a HF motor in his CRX and runs 11s. I think in Sesame Street or sumthin he said he spent only like 300 on the setup; saying its all about balancing and blueprinting. SOHC's have good potential to be fast you just need tuning.
Thinking about it: if some guy wants to race you and asks you to pop your hood and you tell him you gotta ****** single, he'll think he'll smoke you with his DOHC. If ur **** is quick and smoke him or at least keep up wid him, you'll get some respect. My two pennies.

I still don't see how a 1.5 with all the bolt ons, high compression, fully built head, and everything all motor that I can think of run 11s if it's a 1.5 liter. Even if it is in the lightest car. It had to be stroked out. Does anyone know of a website that shows this car.

If you think 'Outside the Box' you'll realize that there are many things that go into the equation to make a car run 11.20s.

If a car is only 1600lbs...You don't need much more than 200whp to run 11s.
Also, you all seem to forget 'Area under the Curve'. Your Power Curve combined with custom-geared transmission to maximize the available power curve create wonders.
These are things you never see in a street car...
1 Ring Pistons, Custom Stroker Crank...11k rpms. 116Octane to utilize 14:1CR+.
People with B20s making 220whp or so are running low 12s IN STREET CARS.
Take a 1600lb Car and an Experienced Driver paired with a RACE MOTOR.
You'll see magnificent things.
