what is the best motor to build up?
I guess if you are just going for something daily driven you got a ton of options if you don't want anything too performance oriented. B16 if thats your flavor, but some people love the LS motor due to the torque difference. Or you could get the best of both worlds and go LS/VTEC. What kind of modifications (if any) are you planning on doing to the motor?
Dont build anything. Buy a b18c5 and run a low 14. Never worry about anything, get 200k out of the engine, and change the oil every 3k.
Done.
Done.

I know you can use existing tranny/axles/mounts etc., I'm thinking you'd atleast need a new ecu/wiring just becuase of the obd differences. Again that is depending on what gen your b16 is.

use the mounts, tranny, axles and such on the C5, then have someone custom chip your ecu with a C5 tune or get a VAFC
I know you are new and have a lot of questions, but do a search before asking all these questions that have already been answered a million times.
