Please lower your VTEC cross over if possible.

nice numbers, theres more in it with a little tuning, I have almost the exact same numbers out of an h22 and the graph looks exactly the same too, just my crossover is at 5k rpm and it still jumped 25ft/lbs in 150rpm........h-series is just wierd i thinks.

If its tuned properly there should NOT be a huge dip and rise in power. H series is not 'just weird'

I agree with this...

A motor with this much displacement needs more air at an earlier RPM than smaller vtec motors. If I were you i would set vtec at 4050 rpms. I think your torque band will widen also, and you seen a peak number, sooner.

yea even though it feels wonderful it would be nice to smoothen it out and make sure we're good to go on our afr's. but i should mention that this was just the beginning dyno just to see what it would put down. the original reason was to make sure it wasn't a dangerous bin that was leaning out really bad or vice versa. but we only had time to get a horsepower run. no time for wideband cuz we didnt have an appointment- my fault!! but yeah im still happy we'll we're still happy

it has less compresion then a h22 and not even tuned people have to tune the hell out of stock h22's to get 180hp. so please sit down. great numbers and he just got started

mine has no dip at all but jumps 25-30ft lbs at 5k rpm...........guess I need to get it tuned out, diff tuner you think?..........car was already tuned once, and another guy at a diff dyno shop said he wouldnt change a thing..........john...............oh and to the asshat that said h22's make that stock, your smoking.........stock is 160-170..........185 is damned good for a bolt on h23/vtec. plus he made about 10ft/lbs more than most bolt on h22's I've seen.

This needs to happen considering the amount of displacement this motor has. 4700 is too high; Vtec needs to engage at a lower RPM...PERIOD. Ask any REAL engine builder...hell, someone get EARL on this thread!

my h22 puts down 181 with just bolt ons. My vtec cross over is at 4500 (p28-pyr chip). Its a very smooth cross over compared to where the p13 had it at.

Just to clearify anything people might be thinking...I did say 4050 rpm crossover. I have seen a couple of H23/vtecs make better power, earlier with this engagement point because it does let the engine breathe, sooner. But engaging vtec below 4000 rpm isn't neccessary, so just over that mark makes the motor more responsive at lower RPM. This makes daily driving easier. And this helps establish a quicker torque peak-out. Good luck with the build up.
