If you want something sticky go with Toyo Proxes RA-1.

Forget the Toyo, Falken etc. those are low performance tires. I know what I talk, I had those brands one my cars. Shitty to drive in the wet compared to high performance one. The Toyo Proxes is crap. The Falken (I knew the old style) was on the dry worser than the Eagle F1 on the wet, NO JOKE! I had it on my Mazda MX6

If you want a realy good wet and dry performance tire go with the Good Year Eagle F1 or the Dunlop SP9000. No comparison to the cheap mf-tires. What the hell ghives you the best suspension, etc. when you use a **** tire. The tire is the important thing between car and street.

Okay, those brands are expensiver than other, but once you try a good rubber, you will never use a cheap one!

I swear on the F1 rubber!

Do we even get Good Year F1 tires in the U.S.? I don't think we do.

I say go with Toyo as well. If it's good enough for Speedvision, then it's good enough for us. (unless, Pirelli P-zero comes in the right size... but don't think so.)

I saw it on the Sema, perhaps you call this tire with an other name. The profile of this tire looks like the profil of the Proxes T1. You know <<<<<<<<< like this. How is this tire called in the US?

PS: Toya sucks!

S-03's are very nice but real pricey, I got the Bridgestone Potenza RE730 in a 205/40/17... and they have awesome grip, I would def. recommend them

I third Ben's (AJPwr) opinion.

The Toyo Proxes RA-1 is a RAIN tire to begin with. R compound to boot. They will kick *** over any street tire.

"The Toyo® Proxes RA-1, a DOT-approved competition tire designed specifically for improved touring racing and autocross, features all the high-tech components to provide you with an uncommon competitive advantage. It's a proven winner.

From its aggressive directional tread design to its steel wire-reinforced sidewalls, the purpose is clear-- to maintain your winning edge.

At its full tread depth (8/32 inch) the RA-1 provides wet traction, but shave it to 4/32 inch and hang on as your dry lap times drop.."

They do make eagle f1 for the us and they come stock on the new corvettes. Get the yokohama A520, they have a poor tread wear but they grip real well. Or wait a month and then get the new yokohama parada's when they come out with the new tread compund. I personnally run the parada's and you cant go wrong with them.

Toyo sucks and is a crap tire! I think I put it into my sign.

Maybe the US Toyo specs are not the same than the Euro Toyo specs?

Kumho now makes a great street tire and I use the Dunlop W10's 215/40/17 they have lasted for 31k miles and are great in the dry and wet.

White Dragon,

RA1 is R compound racing tire, I don't recommend them for street. The grip even better than A032, but as good as V700. I street, I recommend S03 or Toyo T1-S which is what Realtime uses, well that's because it's sponsored by TOYO.

hum... kinda confused. are we talking about street or track tires, if (just IF) I use RA-1 as street tires, how long is that going to last? (how many miles, I guess)

I need new tires too. My RE010 is dying after 2 track events....

Default I have..

215*45*17 Bridgestone S02 pole positions and I think they are the best all around tire I have ever driven on, and I've tried AVSi's, p7000 supersports, re010's, and a few others. The so2 pp's are the most communictaive and responsive tires I have ever come across, very predictable and good in the wet! I'm not too sure how much the s03 will inherit of this, but I can't possibly be any worse!

Think of using RA-1 as street tires as well and just worry that it might not last long......

im assuming ur going with a 215/45/17 or 215/40/17
if u want a street tire, go with the Bridgestone S03, Dunlop Sp9k's or the Michelin Pilot Sports. THe pilot sports r expensive..but if they r good enough to be OEM tires for the AMG cars and M cars then they should be good.
