Quick brake line question
When I removed my old brake lines to install my SS lines I never used the bracket with the rubber to hold the lines to the shocks. After looking at a few pics i've seen some people using it and some not. Is there a need for it? I assumed i would be ok w/o it b/c i'm not using the rubber lines anymore which are more fragile and more flimsy.

This is the bracket i'm talking about (this is from an ITR though, not EF, but same concept). Do I really need to use it

You need to make sure that your ss lines are supported enough to avoid excessive rubbing. The OEM lines aren't necessarily "more fragile" and the braid can wear through if it is always rubbing on something. I personally don't use those OEM line holders, but my car doesn't see any street miles and I inspect them at the end of each day. For peace of mind, I would just install the brackets on a street car or at least fabricate something to keep them from rubbing. Even then you should check them regularly. SS lines aren't as trouble free as the OEM lines.

yes i agree.. the SS lines will flop around alot more than the rubber ones, and usually rubber will give when it rubs agianst something. the SS lines will only run material away, and leave groves in your uni-body.
