Default integra distributor OBD1

I had a few questions about distributors. I bought a car recently and was told a sensor was bad inside the distributor by the owner. First, when you drive or rev the rpm gauge is choppy. it doesnt go up in rpms smoothly. It bounces going up. secondly, the car drives rough after 5,000 rpm. Is this problem the distributor? Timing was never messed with and it recently had a tune up. Also is there anyway to modify any distributor weather it is obd0 or obd2 to obd1?

It sounds like something with your dist. The negitive coil wire is the one that the tach runs off of. If the pick-ups are messed up it could cause timing issues electronically.

yea it like bounces around wildly. It accelerates fine but when it gets to like 5k there is some misfire. I dont get any codes. Do I need a new distributor and is there a way to modify anyother honda distributors to work on a obd1 car?
