Recently purchases 2002 TL Type S
Hi everyone,
I lost my 2000 SiR back in April. It was stolen from me when i left it alone in a mall parking lot for 2 hours. Since then im pretty much still missing it. I got a BLue Type S, this car is amazing. Speed, power, and luxury. I must be crazy but i would still take my car over this TL. I know this car is way better than my SiR but man im still greiving or something i suppose. What you all think.. am i Crazy?? And is there a point in putting after market stuff on this car??

Look into getting the Comptech headers, suppose to make quite a bit of difference. Check out http://www.acura-tl.com for some dyno numbers and other TL related stuff.

Thanks,,, The trans sucks?? u serious>> Man--this might cause some problems then... You guys know why recently the maintenance required light keeps flashing more than it did when i start the car?
doesnt it flash longer as regular maintence time approaches? i know on integras they do that. then once its time for maintenance, it will just stay on

It goes by preset intervals and it will flash more when approaching scheduled maintenance. And upon reaching that certain mileage, it'll stay on.
There's instructions on how to reset it in your owner's manual. Refer to it to reset it when the light stays on.
Yes, it's worth it to put aftermarket parts on it. Suspension mods will firm up the handling a lot and it feels great. Headers, intake, and exhaust will really open up the engine. When I hit VTEC with I/H, it turns heads. I love it.

I had a silver `02 Type S that I drove the $#!T out of for 70,000 miles. It didn't miss a lick. The only thing I did was kill the brakes. The rotors warped very easily. I loved that car though, sure miss it.
Also have an '02 TLS...I have brought it back to the dealership for the tranny recall and it seems to fine now. I have heard many stories of 2 and 3 trannies going into one car though. The maintenance required light will blink as scheduled maintenance approaches. To reset it just turn the key to the on position , hold down the select and reset buttons at the same time and start the car while holding them. You should only have to hold them for about 10 seconds.
I see.. thanks guys... Well guess what happen 3 days ago.. the tranny went... I took it to acura.. demended a courtesy car.. they gave me a 2004 EL (crap) and I picked the car up 3 days later.. I was going to work morning and the car shut off.. i mean SHUT OFF and came back on 3 seconds later.. i was going 40 clicks.. I got pissed I am taking it in tomorrow and once they fix it im trading the car in for something else.. this is retarded a 2002 Model this useless... anyone else had this problem?
