Supercharger or turbocharger for my 05 accord coupe
Everyone told me not to void the warranty. why can i put stuff into my car and when something happens put the stock back on. Whats a s2k. I dont really know that much about cars so be as specific as possible. And is there anyway to not void warranty but still modify the car. Help im so mad theres nothing i can do to the car. I want at least 300 horsepower in 2 years. Oh yea and should i put in a Turbonetics turbocharger in or a supercharger. Im also think about tein coilover and a short throw shifter. Im not going to do anything to the outside of the car, only the engine mods. Please help me!?!??!?!?!?!??!?
Okay, an S2K is a Honda S2000 (the little convertible).
As far as turbo or supercharger, go in the FI forum and search.
Short throw shifter - you do have a manual right?
The SEARCH BUTTON is your friend. You'll learn a lot.

If you dont care about your warranty (personally I would since the car is brand new and you paid or it) then modify it all you want. If your warranty is the same as mine you basically cant do anything to the car. And the modifications you will be throwing on to get 300+hp will take hours to take off (not to mention re-tune) should something go wrong and you try and use the warranty. But.. like I said, if you dont care then throw on a turbo charger (dont bother with supercharger ... there was a good thread about turbo vs super on the dyno ... SEARCH and READ!), but read up on this stuff before even buying anything. Spend several months reading in the forums and buy some books too.
If you want 300hp then you need alot of money, around 8-10k to do it properly and safely for the accord. New pistons, rings, rods, sleeves, ARP head studs, upgraded clutch, suspension, brakes, flywheel, axels, etc... You could cheap out but I wouldnt, since if you screw up your engine you are SOL because it would be money out of your pocket and the warranty is of no help. Otherwise just sell the car and buy something that is a little more popular to modify and has more potential.
I would get a Toyota Supra Turbo and call it good... Correct me if Im wrong but even stock the supra should be over 300hp. With the same amount of money spent on upgrading the accord you can upgrade that supra to 600+ hp alot easier.
800 - 1000hp supras are not common but easier to achieve than a 800 - 1000 hp accords
Although I would personally love to ride in an accord that put that much power down and still be streetable

On a more serious note, I am not sure how old you are but it feels like you are jumping into the "need for speed" without looking at the consequences or being properly informed. Just be happy with the power that the coupe makes (If it is a 4 cylinder it should be 160hp, or 240 for the 6 cylinder) and you will soon learn that quality of ride is better than the speed of the ride. Just look at all the ricers out there chipping their teeth on every bump and you'll love your ride more and more

umm...a Mk4 supra turbo (the one with 320 hp stock) is gonna run at least $25k in decent condition--i've seen nice 1998's go for close to $40k. that is one case where it would be cheaper to build up the accord. id still rather have a supra, but they are big $$$...

do you have a V6 coupe or is it a 4 banger? 300hp from the 4 is going to take some work and you would want to go turbo. the V6 could acheive 300hp much easier and i assume comptech will eventually make a supercharge for it.
anyways if you wanted faster car why didn't you buy an STi or an EVO.
