Default 2000 Civic SI help

Ok I have 2 questions..

1. I have my tokico shocks and progress springs from my 98 lx..will it fit onto my SI?
2. The gas cover says to use premium fuel only..does this matter?

Thanks.

I don't see no reason why it wouldn't work. 1996-2000 parts on Civics are interchangeable most of the time.

I don't think that VTEC has anything with Honda recommending premium fuel. It has to do with the engine's compression ratio and timing.

I don't see what the problem is...

The car says "Use Premium"... then you just go and use premium... its that easy. Your engine isn't the thing you want to be all cheap with.

If you read the honda manual it clearly states that the vehicle requires an octane of 91 or higher

It also says that you can run lower octanes but there will be a noticable loss in performance. The reason for the premium only is because of the compression ratio. 10.2:1 needs high octane.

Don't complain thats one of the perks of driving an Si

It's not that hard, and you don't need to remove the sway bar and junk, it's a few bolts.
