1992 Hatchback Rattle, Rattle, SQUEEK SQUEEK SQUEEK, Rattle, Rattle, SQUEEK!
Well, I just got a 1992 Civic VX hatchback, and i wanted to see if anyone could help me out with 2 concerns that i had. let me just say, i searched on both of these topics and did not find much that was directly useful in terms of relative information.
First off, when i start to turn left, there is a point in the steering where it sounds like something from the driver's side suspension is squeeking. Also, sometimes when the road is bumpy and i get shock compression on the same area it squeeks too. If i had to guess, i would say its something to do with the lower balljoint, however i dont want to go and take it all apart without SOME input. Its quite loud, and it makes my car sound like a shitbox.
Other then that, i have found that around 3500rpm there is a rattle somewhere near the firewall. I checked all the fuel lines, all the clamps, etc. along the firewall and noting seems to be loose. Sometimes also when i release the clutch it seems alot louder... I also checked and the exhaust seems to be quite stable near the front, and it seems like the cat-back is properly supported aswell. If anyone knows of anything that comes loose along the firewall, or anything for that matter, please let me know so i can check it out on my car!
So, thanks alot for anyone who has ANY input on anything... if you need more information then ill give it to you to the best of my knowledge/ability to find it. Oh yea, everything suspension and drivetrain wise is stock!

for this problem have you check all heat shield on/under the exhaust system. Sometime vibration from acceleration can cause heat shield to hit the exhaust pipe.

so is this a piece of metal that protects the bottom of the car from the exhaust pipe? does it run the length of the vehicle? im not very familiar with the underneath of my car, since i dont have a lift... im limited to jackstands
also, about the CV boot... its not ripped or anything, and it looks like its in fine shape and secured properly!

Could be bad struts. I had this in my galant. It was real squeeky and annoying. Happened on hard bumps and specific turns. If its a creeking and not really a squeeking, might be axles.

Check heat shields like stated before. When you release your clutch and it gets louder, its a possible spun input shaft bearing. Wait, do you mean that the noise from the fire wall gets louder when you release the clutch or the tranny gets louder? If its the second one, imput shaft bearing. If its the first one, check your heat shields.
