Buying 1993 Honda Accord lx 5 speed....but it has high mileage....
To make a long story short, I need a car, and im college....step dad owns a body shop, customer brings a perfectly maintained 1993 accord needing body work....step dad offers to buy it and today he said he was sure he got it.......but the car has 183,000 miles on it! i was like woah thats alot miles...but the car was mostly driven on the highway......and maintaince was up to date, religously....
do u guys think this car will last me another 100k? i know honda's are reliable, but what can i expect from a car with this many miles?? any input is very much appreciated!

a 1994 with 202,000 miles....and you aren't worried about it? thats confidence in a product! 183,000 i guess is really nothing
well if you say it was maintained religiously then i dont see what the prob is, altho i personally have never bought a car w/ 183k on it.

George,
I'm curious as to how much you got it for. I'm also thinking of getting a commuter car since I'm moving further away from work. An Accord would be perfect. Thanks!

My mechanic used to work at a honda dealer. One time a 90-93 accord came in. Original EVERYTHING............had 540,000+ miles on it. Ran like a champ. It's all how it's been taken care of. I've seen pre 80 hondas still running around los angeles, so that should account for something
I've got a 1993 Honda Accord EX 5 speed. It's got 200,000 miles on it and pretty much everything is original down to the hoses. Original rotors, etc. The alternator bearings went at about 180,000 miles due to a misadjustment of the tensioner when they did the timing belt. Anyhow other than that the only thing that constantly breaks is the Heat temperature control. THe plastic know just breaks. As long as you are getting a good price, I say go for it. My 93 is going to Ft. Lauderdale from New Jersey next month so yep still have faith it her. Really good car. Good luck!
Also guys, this car will be my first 5 speed......Are 4th gen Accords easy to learn how to drive stick on??
Reading all of your Responses makes me really excited about this car......btw when all fixed and everything.....the car will cost 3k
