Default H23 better then H22?

Hey guys, I just had a question I bought an older model prelude H23 5spd. Well shortly after I bought it I raced my friend who had a 99 H22 5spd. I smoked the pants off him with no obvious modifications? Is this normal? Not only that but when I went to test drive an 01 H22 The car felt like it was slow. Now I'm not VTEC bashing but what's the deal? I had a thought I was thinking maybe that there are some internal modifications that were done. Do preludes cut off like other honda's at 110mph? I was doing 130mph down a non-busy highway Is it possible this car has been modified I was just wondering I could have sworn all my friends say their cars shut off at 110 until the have the ECU modified.

The 99 should have roasted your ***. Your boy can't drive. It's as simple as that. And no, they do not cut off at 110mph.

As far as driving fast on public highways, we do not condone that. Stop driving like an asshat before you kill yourself or somebody else.

Thank you.
