Need help with emissions
Its time for emissions and it looks like im a bit late now.
I got a 99 si with bolt-ons including a jackson racing hi flo cat.
I need to get it done before sept 2 and today i went and my CEL was on. It always throws code 45 but the CEL keeps going on then off. The guy said that since the CEL was on it was an automatic failure to the emissions test.
Looks like I need to get my problem fixed or I cant renew my tag. Anyone know how much it is for a late emissions test in GA? Plus is there anyway I can get my CEL to turn off? or do I need to put back on my stock cat? My CEL been on and off even with the stock cat on there.
Any help is appreciated. TIA

Code 45 - fuel system too rich or lean.
Do you still have an O2 sensor plugged into your catylitic converter? If so, have you reset your ECU after the installation of these aftermarket modifications? If you've done this and you still throw that code, you might want to slap your stock exhaust on there and see if that helps.
Good luck. Emissions suck.

Yea, the jackson racing cat has a hole for the O2 sensor and I plugged everything up. I reset the ECU after every mod I put on the car. Yet my CEL stays on for days, weeks, goes off for a good couple of days, maybe even a couple of hours and comes back on.
The CEL is always on and off. Last year I passed the emissions test with just i'h'e with the stock cat. Does anyone know if the JR cat is CARB approved?
