Default Z6 into a 89 Civic Si ran into a problem please help!!!

This past weekend my buddy blew the headgasket in his hatch so he decided to get a Z6 put in it so after a long day of putting the z6 in and changing the plugs on the distributor we can't get the **** started.. it is on timing and the firing order is correct... now we are not 100% sure that the distributor is correct so we are leaning towards the distributor being wired up wrong that might be the reason why it won't start... the motor is getting both fuel and spark and when we try to start it, it will start for like a quick second then turn back off. if anyone has any suggestions or might have the pin layout on how to wire up the Z6 distrbutor plug then please help... any suggestions will be greatly appreciated!!!!!!!!

You can't use the Z6 distributor with your A6 ECU.
The reluctor wheels inside had differnt teeth counts on them. That sends a different ammount of pulses to the ECU - wrong distributor = wrong pulses = no worky.
