Default thread die size?

hey guys i just got a short shifter on, and the damn thing sitting too hight i wanna cut it down like 2 inches and use a die set to make thread to screw on my ****, but i dont know what the size is, plz help

you sure you got the correct shifter for your car....stock and my short shifter sits at normally.....only differences is the throw...

Guys, he might mistakenly think that the short shifter is actually "shorter" in length too. Many people think that in the beginning.

To the original poster: A short shifter is designed to shorten the "throw" or the distance you have to move the shifter to get into each gear. Not too often is the length of the lever shorter. That only gives you the illusion that the throw is shorter, but it isn't.

Look at all the "race" cars. Not counting paddle shifting and whatnot, the shift levers/***** are VERY high. The closer it is to your hand/steering wheel, the better and more efficient it is. A good short shifter should be kinda high (like your stock one) and have a short throw.

yeah i know short shifter are for short throw, but i want it to be a lil shorter, just for cosmetic look, i dont like it looking so damn high. well you guy sknow the thread size?
