2000 complete h22a4

I'm swappin that in my 97 Acura CL. What is this extra piece? My dad and I can't figure out what it is because the intermediate shaft won't fit with that on there. Can we pry this off? Thanks.

don't know what it is, but i would just pull it out, it is stuck inot the internal differential, just remove it, and then install the intermediate shaft as normal.

You have the accord intermediate shaft i believe, you need the prelude intermediate shaft to work with the prelude trans.

Yup, got the Prelude intermediate shaft along with the Prelude drive axles. Prelude drive axles won't fit right?

Should be too long to fit.

that is the connector for the ATTS unit. its an SH block / tranny

without the ATTS unit you will need to do this

Shakes: I don't really see what they did except that the ATTS connector is gone. Can you explain it to me?

that tranny is worthless to you since it is an ATTS unit. you need to dump it and get a base model tranny. you CAN if you want buy an atts unit and put the exts 90 or so lbs of worthless weight on teh bottom of the car. then make a late to bolt it to the block....

a regualr accord/cl/lude half shaft will not work with the atts tranny....

yes it will, you just have to make the adapter plate that Ian did in the above link.

if you want to PM Clendaniel he will help you with it.

That adapter plate will only work with the Base tranny/SH block. If I am not mistaken you cannot jus pop the ATTS coupler out of that differential and stick an intermediate shaft in it. Also you cannot easily bolt on an ATTS unit onto the back of that engine block. Look at the Oil filter placement. That is a Base block with an SH tranny. Clendaniel has a SH block with a Base tranny. The other way around.

My reccomendation is to ditch the tranny and get a base h22a tranny. Then you will have no problems. It will be totally bolt-up and no fab invloved.

Called the junkyard dealer and told them about it, turns out they "didn't know that there was a difference between the base and SH trannies." They said they'll give me an even exchange for a base tranny as soon as they get one. Damn that ATTS..

Dude, you cant just dump the transmission and bolt up a base no problem.

You need to make the plate as there is a big hole on the block for the weird ATTS ****.

Tell them to give you the base tranny, then you need to fabricate the plate and i believe you need to use an h23 IMS. Check out that site that was linked, and hes a member on here as well

Just to clear things up..

the-one1: 97 Acura 2.2 CL = Rebadged Honda Accord (EX I think) = F22B1

98TypeSH: I have a base block/SH tranny. That link for those fabrication pics was for a SH block/base tranny. So yes, I can bolt up the tranny no prob.

ProjectPenny: Sorry, no can do, the junkyard is giving me an even exchange for a base tranny.

Thanks everybody.

Maybe I did not type loud enough? LOOK at the freaking picture. he does not need a plate/adapter/magic he needs a Base tranny.
