why not convert to manual when you do your swap?

i have a VERY limmited income and was wondering if i could do a Motor swap without swiching the tranny. i dont even have a MPFI ECU yet(but i'm looking ). just one less thing i'd have to wory about.

i would do all this to a DPFI 91 civic LX auto. so i would not only have to do the MPFI wiering but the VETC and the manual wiering too. plus add the clutch petal, cable, etc...

You can do it.
You should do the MPFI swap because your DPFI and ECU won't be adequate for the VTEC or ZC engine.

Do the MPFI and look around for a 90/91 Civic sedan EX ECU that had an auto tranny. You can also use one from an Integra that was auto.

Is there a auto ECU that has the TC lockup and VETC? when I change to manual, could I change the ecu to manual?

ECU would have to be changed. By TC did you mean traction control sorry not sure what TC means? and vetc I'm guessing you meant VTEC .

Whats up with everyone ragging on him about having an Auto. He asked a question, not whether or not Auto was better, but whether or not he could drop a Auto swap in there. Dang lay off the guy. And yes auto's downshift to whoever said they don't.

eww. Not to good with Auto's lol. A integra gs-r auto can have a vtec/auto, jdm's, not sure on edm and cdm. But I know that the GS-R has an auto and has vtec. but that would be obd1/2.
