How to take off chrome window trim (4dr)
Anybody got the helms PDF on how to take these pieces off? I want to paint them black and I don't want to f*ck up any clips, because I have never done this before, nor do i have a helms manual.
If you've done this before, please explain the steps you did to safely take these peices off.
If you don't know what I'm talking about, here's a pic.

TIA

just mask it off with masking tape and newspaper. i did that to touch up the fading black paint. i kept thr chrome though... i was gonna paint it all black but i think the chrome gives it a little more class over other integras... LOL that sounds like a dumbass reason though, now that i think about it.

True, but the rear door peices are actually fading to chrome. The black factory paint is wearing off. Thats why I wanted to paint it in the first place.

Use primer first, then regular black or gloss black, you can use a paint remover, put some on a rag and wipe the remaining old paint. This way you have it nice and even when you begain to paint. I've done this to my wipers and doors, works great...
This chrome molding I think is a pain in the A$$ to get off. I think its gonna take lots of sanding to get it off and then I can paint.
