OK last week I went to start my car and it had power and everything but when I turned the key nothing happened. So i got out and pondered for a bit and tried it about 10 more times and then it just fired like nothing happened. So I drive around for another week and now its doing that same thing again except ive tried it 10 times and it still wont crank. Is it possible that battery just might be really drained and dosent have the power to start the car? What should i do? Grounds seem to be ok and i changed out the main relay a couple months ago to something else. I think I can hear the fuel pump cut on when i turn the key. HELP me out i gotta get to work this week

 

I'm pretty sure the battery is dead. Check it with a voltmeter to confirm. If there's 10V get a new one. Have you checked all fuses? Also check wiring for all starting/charging components.

 

Intermittent problems SUCK.

Check the battery posts for corrosion.
Check all the grounds and clean them up too.

If it's an auto, it might be the shifter. The interlock switches inside it sometimes act up.
If it's a manual, the clutch pedal switch might need to be adjusted.

The ignition key might be going bad.

The starter solenoid might be going bad.

Stuff might be going bad all over the car.

thank god it was just the battery! I have been wanting one of those hawker batteries but I can afford to wait for it to be shipped to me so i had to settle with some autozone battery

 

my car did that once or twice this summer...maybe in the same week. I thought it was vapor locked or something becasue it was in the sun all morning, but nothing seemed to help for a while. It cranked good and showed no signs of slowing down. Finally it started and i have had no problems since. :weird:
