Default please help me figure this out!

Well I learned a good leason today. All mechanics suck. I took my car in today to a repair place and they said they would look at it shortly and call me with a price to fix it. Well 8 hours later they still havent looked at it and didnt even bother to call me to let me know that they were closing soon. SHIFE. Well here is the problem, I csn get into my car crank it right up and drive it. But when I get to where im going and try to crank it back up it wont. wont even turn over. sounds like if the battery is dying, but if I wait an hour it will crank right up. Or if I jump it, it will start right up. Could this be the main relay, or is it something else? Any input would be great cause I need to get this fixed and if its simply I can probably do it myself. Thanks oh and its a 2000 non sh

i could be something as simple as your battery cables not being
connected tightly enough. Take your car to an auto parts store
and have them check your battery to see if it's got enough juice

if it was the main relay it would probably still crank just not turn over.

If your motor rotates but never fires and runs then it is 90% probabal that it is the main relay. You can check this by tapping on the relay while the motor is turning over and if it suddenly fires and starts running the relay is bad. If it doesn't even rotate or makes a quick clicking noise it could be like the other guy said a battery cable issue. Or teh starter is not functioning when it is hot.

Check your battery terminals. Make sure they are squeeky clean. This could be the problem when you describe it that way. It has happened to me and alot of people I know. I clean it for them, their car works and they think I am god...... a nice easy simple fix.

Well once again I apprciate all the help. Took it over to my dads house he had a spare battery hooked it up after it was hot and wouldnt crank and it cranked right up. So it was the battery even though the indicater light said it was ok. So they are worthless. Went to advanced auto and bought a optima red top and it fired up like a new car. That battery is bad as#. You guys ROCK
