Default uping rim size to half inch..worth it?

i'm currently running 205/50/15 azenis on my stock 15x5.5 rims that weight anywhere from 17-20 lbs (not sure how much they weigh)..anyways i can get a set of 15x6 rims that weigh 15lbs pretty cheap and i'm planning on running the same tires..this is strictly for autocross use and keep in mind i'm broke

question is, is half an inch in width going to improve grip noticebly? or should i just save up for a proper set of wheels?

and yes i'm trying to get in as much seat time possible

15x7's, dont waste your time w/ the 6" wheels.

Yeah, you should be able to find a used set of K1s or other similar 15 X 7s for a fairly low price.

yep, running a 7" wide wheel with the Azenis makes all the difference in feel.

yea i see them for some pretty good prices even tho a lil expensive for my current situation..problem is they are NEVER in the lug configuration i need (4x114.3)...the only other rim i could think of that is around the same price range is the prelude si rims at 15x6.5 but those damn things weigh 23 lbs lol

I feel your pain. Try finding lightweight 14X6 and 14X7 wheels in the 5X114.3 bolt pattern. I'm stuck with 16lb front wheels and 19lb rear wheels for auto-x because theres nothing readily available for my MR2.
