Default Low Fuel Economy 2004 CRV

I have a 2004 Honda CRV with 2 wheel drive and automatic transmission. I am averaging 19-20 mpg. The CRV has only 3000 miles but when new I was getting close to 23 mpg which agrees with the EPA estimates. I live in the Phoenix AZ area and my driving is mostly city with the AC on. When purchaced the car in May, we had the same weather as now. Several people that own CRV's tell me thet are getting about 24 mpg in the all wheel drive versions.

Check your tire pressure. And what are the driving conditions of the 4WD CR-Vs that get 24mpg (freeway/city)?

Tire pressure set to 35 psi. The driving conditions for the 4 wheel CRV is 3/4 city and 1/4 freeway. One dealer told me that there is a coorelation between clean oil on fuel mileage. I find this hard to believe, but I am due for my firts iol change which I plan to complete within the next week.
