Oil Pump Swap Questions.......
Ok, I searched a little bit and found SOME information, but I still dont undertand...
Anyway,
My buddy tells me I need an OBD1 oil pump for the main reason of setting the timing for tuning. Which oil pump will work as a replacement for the stock h22a?
Because of the missing crank sensor........
Will I need to buy an OBD1 Distributor now? If so, which one off of which car??
ANd
If I have to switch distributors, who knows how to wire all this?
Does it help if I have HOndata to give more or less timing?
MIke

The actual oil pumps are the same but the crank position sensor changed from being in the distributor in OBD1 to being on the oil pump housing in OBD2. So either get an OBD1 distributer and rewire it for the harness or get an OBD2 oil pump. If you are doing a fifth gen swap then you can use your old oil pump housing with the JDM pump gears (if you're worried about mileage) just make sure it has the proper clearances and you will be good to go. Get a Helms manual if you do not already have one. It has all the wiring diagrams you need if you need to rewire.

Ummm, im ignorant.........
So All I have to do is get the OBD1 distributor and rewire the crank position sensor? So i dont really have to worry about actually swapping the oil pump right?
