Heres the story, my carsound 2.5" fell apart on me, so I just hollowed it out. I know a mechanic down the road who helped me out and he looked at my exhaust and said its too black on the inside and the car is running too rich.

I am about to buy another carsound to replace that one cause I have emissions coming up soon. But my question is should I get a fuel pressure regulator and lean it out with that or hook the car back up to a dyno and lean it with the hondata management. Sorry if this isn't clear enough.

Edit: Also when the AC is on there is some knocking before 3k rpms, sounds like too much knocking personally. Could that be from running too rich? Runs fine however without AC on.

 

Get on a dyno and tune your hondata with a wideband.

Yes, the hondata of course is the engine management. The Vafc is custom mounted just for reading purposes. Not all of the wires are connected to the hondata. For instance the vtec engagement wires. I cannot control the vtec at all with the vafc. I just read my CR, Throttle, RPM, and Pressure all the time.

Yea it sucks up oil.

 

So I am hearing Dyno is the way to go? FYI, the mechanic who helped with out with my car said that its always a good idea to have a fuel pressure regulator, didn't go into detail as to why though.

And for those Turbo lovers, this guy owns a fully built what is now almost 800 whp GSR Integra, with a 200 shot of NOS. And yes I have seen the charts, he just recently went from over 400 whp and swapped with a new race inspired engine with all the goodies. Claims that he runs low 9's.

 

a.) yes boltons require tuning....if you don't tune, you will run rich....that's what you are experiencing.

b.) Hollowing out a cat not only hurts the environment but it also hurts your performance.

c.) take it to a dyno and get it tuned....

 

The car has been tuned. It just needs to be re-tuned. I bought it with all the bolt-ons and tuning already done. Tuning done I believe by Steve.
