Default cam gears setting suggestions

I have a Mugen headgasket on a jdm spec motor, spoon headers on a straight thru n1 exhuast.. I have spoon cam gears.. Anyhow the setting i had b4 the headgasket work was sweet.. so now the mechanic set it back to 0, 0 on both cam gears.. now my motor has run in and stuff.. i want to get the most out of it.. what settings anyone recommend me to do on the cam gears..

Only one way to know where they should be set on YOUR motor, YOU NEED to get it on a dyno for a tuning session.

Pondus, who is in a good mood today and is feeling like he should be making nice helpful posts

This is actually one instance where I'd recommend a setting other than 0,0 for an "untuned" setup. In this case, I would probably set the sprockets to +1,+1 in order to compensate slightly for the timing change caused by the thinner Mugen gasket.

Of course, I only suggest this as a temporary setting until you take it to a dyno for proper tuning.

0, 0 seems to be a good starting point or what Padawan suggested to make up for the thinner hg.

Do timed runs. That's how we used to do it.... it's crude....time consuming, irritating but can be a lot of fun.
