OMG! What happened to my plugs!!!
I have never in my life seen this!

What caused the ceramic part to break? WTF!
Also here is the color of the plug...it only has 73 miles on it so it might be to early for it to show anything.

I know you said you were running 89 octane...did you ever throw in octane booster? Cause if you did, your plugs (2nd pic) will look exactly like that.
I can't tell if there is detonation, cause the pic is a little blurry.
As for the first pic...i have never seen anything like that.

Yes I threw in some NOS Octane Booster...Iguess Ill have to wait till I go through this tank of gas and then fill up again to get a true reading.
Based on what the guys said in the FI forum...i think ur just fine. Octane booster will always make ur plugs red, and you'd be able to tell if you had detonation right away. Any silver/white specs on the electrode? If so, then you prob have some detonation. A
And it looks as though you mighta broken the first plug. So...problem solved.
Have you played with your fuel at all since putting it all together?

Theres no white/silver specs on the electrode at all.
As for the pllugs breaking, I think it was the socket. I talked to this guy I know and he said he's seen it happen before if the socket isnt long enough...it pushes down on the ceramic part and cracks it! Luckily I have another set of plugs in the car! But no socket! Blah!

Did the ceramic break off on all the plugs or just one? I'm surprised you didn't see or feel or hear anything when if it broke off during installation. As far is the color of the plugs go, it looks just fine since it looks tan.
1 was broken (the one in the picture), 2 have cracks, and 1 is ok.
What did you use to tighten the spark plugs? Did you torque it? Maybe you've tightened it too much.
