Default Oil in spark plug cylinders.

OK did a search on this problem, yielded the same things, but with no updates on to if it fixed the problem.

My problem was that my car was hestitating, so i pulled the plugs... the wires and the plugs and the shaft for the plugs on the #2 & #4 cylinders were full of oil. #1 and #3 had some oil in them, regardless, all of the plugs were oil coated. So i replaced them, but my concern now is, why?

Well, i know that the valve cover has gaskets/grommets that go on each of the walls of the cylinders. So i plan on taking that off and replacing.

Also, oil can mean that the valve guides are worn or that my rings are shot. So i'm hoping this is not the problem.

SO anyone thats had this, remedied it, or whatever.. make a post please.

Thanks in advance.

Do you mean the oil was on top of the plugs or on the electrode? If on top i say replace the 4 rubber rings under the valve cover. I had to do this before on my old a6.
