help! did search and nothing. Mini me Q.
I want to use the y8 head on my a6 block its an 89 si I have searched and pretty much found everything i need to know. I still have a couple of unanswered questions . The motor the head came out of was automatic tranny with it and i know that there are some differences from the sensors on the mt and auto trans manifold. According to some people that did the swap its much easier to use the a6 dizzy on the y8 manifold, will ibe able to still use the a6 intake manifold fuel rail and all its sensors and injectors? I plan on getting a rpm activating switch for vtec os i dont want to convert to obd 1 or obd 2, Is this still possible and why do most people opt for going z6 which usually requires to convert to obd 1?
the dizzy mounts to the head, not the manifold. The eastiest thing for you to do is use your a6 manifolds (intake and exhaust). all you have to wire in taht case is vtec which you can do with an rpm activated switch or preferebly a vafc or fields so you can tune your fuel. BTW, you will need a y8 timing belt and i would get a y8 adjustable cam gear as well.
