OEM keyless entry options
Has anyone successfully wired up the OEM keyless entry off another Honda? I am considering adding keyless entry but I'd only do it if it were an OEM Honda system for a few reasons -
- I haven't seen a comparable aftermarket unit that matches the quality of an OEM supplier.
- There is a very limited choice of systems available locally (AUS), and the keyfobs aren't to my liking.
- I'm only after the keyless entry, not a full alarm.
There was never any option for a keyless entry system locally, and given that the RF band is different to most places means it pretty much has to be off a locally delivered car. My first thoughts are to look at the current Integra.

I have the OEM keyless and alarm on my car, it says Acura on it, but it is actually made by Alpine in Japan.
No cutting, no splicing, you need to purchase an additional wire harness to wire it up to the car, and it comes with all hardware to mount everything.
If you can get the keyless brain from another Honda, it might work if you used the integra wire-harness, but there is also a high probability that it will not work.
I would just stick to the one made for the integra.
If it's not offerred in your area, try to see if you can find someone here in the states that can get a kit for you.
I believe the keyless kit is discontinued, but can still be ordered though, I had ordered one kit last year for a friend and it came in.

That sounds like the best way. I'm going to see if there's anyone local that has any idea about it - if not, what's the sort of pricing / availability for this kit?
