Default Rattle from my exhaust

Ok this rattle has buged me ever since i have got an exhaust.... Well the rattle came once i installed a cat back.. i was like ok it must be the cat shield makeing nosie... so i had it weld.... ok then it still made nosie a week later.. so i Buy a High-Flow Cat and NOOOOOOOOOOo it still MAKES NOSIE !!! i installed some headers and it got alittle worst.... IT BUGS ME SO BAD!!! when i drive and get to 3-3.5K the rattle kicks in like RATTLE V-TEC and it pisses me off ... Does anyone else have this problem??? i dont know where else it would come from .. maybe the heat sheild above the high flow cat???

Anyone got any Idea's?

Thanks

I have that same problem. But when I was at the muffler shop having my cat put on, I was able to look underneath the car while it was on the lift. I shook the muffer left to right and found that my rattle was on one of the hangers at the axleback piping. Check around there, and I agree, that rattling is annoying as fock (especially when friends ask you what that noise is all the time).

i dont know if it the cat but it seems like it is coming from that area when i lay on the ground and push the gass with my fingers.. the noise is like a buzzzing sound only comes at 3-3.5 RPM ... i bin to the muffler shop like 10 times .. and they never find anything.. i think they think im crazy now lol but it is there! lol ill check it some time.

Sounds like your piping is hitting the heat sheild(s)

My guess is it's also the heat shield. I have the same problem. I need to have mine removed.

im thinkin its hitting ur bumper.... but to track it down easily get a long screw driver and put it where u hear the noise from the put the handle to ur ears... and there u can tell where it coming from as you move it around and get close to it.....

Do you have a short shifter? Because short shifters hit the exhaust and cause a rattle, or maybe your muffler gas inside the muffler is rattling.. Just some ideas..

Id say its your heat shield. On my cat back the shield was hanging down and making a vibrating noise towards the back of the car and all i had to do was bend the shield up a little. Look from the passenger side right under the back window and if tis coming from right there, that might be it. Good luck though.

Hey guys when i installed my 4-1 headers shouldnt i feel a loss of power at lower RPMs cuz it feels like i have lost some power in my car and does not feel right . do you think it is cuz of the 4-1 headers? or maybe they are not bolted down all the way .. ? how can i tell ?
