My 1st car yay .... anyway i purchased this car about a week and a half ago. The car is a 91 civic si with a d16y8(woops) swap completely stock other than that.

good luck with the project. Makes me miss my hatch (damn thieves)!!! Nice little SIR front will look good on there along w/ some sprint hart CPs.

 

wait wait wait a second....EF hatch sunroofs slide back into the roof?, or am i seein things? unlike the crx si sunroof/moonroof that slides back over the roof?

 

oh yeah and also man, nice civic...its def. nice to start from scratch (well almost) youll feel much better knowing personally whats been done to the car and who did it. And remember man its your first car so your gonna make some mistakes, just dont grow too overly attatched to your car. Own your car, dont let your car own you! ..lol it sounds lame but its so true.

You wish you had rear disks and a nicer center council/dash among the other things that look cleaner on a crx

 

d16z6 what a great start for a project. Body is in great condition. Keep the exterior the way it is and boost that motor.

 

I noticed you're missing the rear wiper. I Also just got a BLK Si an mine is also missing the rear wiper. Any tips on repairing this.
Nevermind just need a new blade.

 

one thing is still bothering me about those motor shots..it looks just like a d16y7...the y7 valve cover is compatible with the z6...but i thought the dipstick for the z6 was in between the 2nd and 3rd header runner...am i right?

 

yea you sure its not a y8 or something.....anyway looks good keep up the good work.

Yeah, check the stamping on the block for the engine code.

For a car in great condition from the looks of it. They are just so hard to find in good condition these days

 

Great car, get the rust spot fixed first. You're in Ohio. The weather will eat your car up, if it's anything like New York.

thanks for all the coments guys, not sure on the motor i thought thats what the code was but its a sohc v-tec out of 97 civic. I will check tmw its late and i jst got off work yep im saving all the money i can now. ill get some interior pics up this week and the exterior is pretty good besides the small rust spot only surface rust though which should get handled some time within the next month or so and on the pasenger side theres a dent in the lower front part ofthe door thats also getting touched up. Then suspension, bolt-ons, then later (way later) boost (mmmmm booost...)

 

its a D16Y8 they came in 96-00 civic ex, d16z6 came in 92-95ex/si and some del-sols.....now chane your sig to d16y8 fast

 

nice car and a good base to start off with.

z6 has 125hp stock y8 has 127hp stock
