ITR Oil pump on B16A... which belt cover to use?
Hi guys, I'm currently doing my engine rebuild, and I finally put my ITR oil pump and toda gear on my B16A SiRII (OBD1) block, but my original lower timing belt cover doesn't fit due to the fact the ITR oil pump has a different shape to allow for a crank position sensor. Should I just use the cover from a B16A gen 3 (OBD2) since that sensor is found on OBD2 cars? It seems to be the most logical, but before I drop the money and find it doesn't fit, I wanted to check with you guys. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks!
maybe it will work..i have been told to modify my stock cover..how does that pump work on that motor? do you have an oil pressure gauge? just wondering cuz i gotta install my pump still..

I don't have an oil pressure gauge, but I'll prolly get one soon. The pump mates to the block exactly like any other b-series oil pump, but the ridges on the outer area are shaped differently to allow for a crank angle sensor, so the belt cover should be a little wider. I couldn't see a way to modify mine, so I guess I'll be buying an OBD2 B16a belt cover.

you can use the obd1 cover just cut the small square off the bottom of the cover and it will fit but will not seal the area , or just get a b16 gsr itr obd2 cover and bolt it on.
