Default difference between 97 & 98 JDM conv.

Is there any difference in a 97 ITR JDM conversion & a 98+ ITR JDM conversion? Reason I ask is, I just purchased a CF Hood from VIS and it doesn't close all the way. I have a 97 ITR with a JDM conversion and everything fits perfect with the metal hood. I noticed the CF hood had a 98INT stamp on the under side and I thought that maybe there is a difference. I could not find a difference between the CF hood and my metal one. Anyone else have an issue like this? I've never had fitmet issues with VIS prodcuts.

Maybe it's just the hood or it could be a possibilty that there is a 97 98 difference. I dunno sorry if I can't help

The only difference between the 97 and 98 conversion are the HID headlights..which have nothing to do with hood fitment. What part of your hood isn't closing all the way? I've seen a couple VIS jdm itr hoods that bowed up on the sides, and those seem to be the hoods from their batch like 6 months ago.

edit: haha maybe i should have visited the links on the post above mine before I posted, because they basically say the same thing i just said

No difference at all. You have to adjust the hood latch higher probably. I would also make a mark where it is now before you adjust it incase you ever want to change.

On each side when the hood is open are two little rubber things that you can screw up or down to adjust the height the hood sits at, try screwing them down and see if it makes any difference. there is no differnce in 96spec and 98spec. A freind of mine has a 98spec (real JDM ITR) and i have a 96spec, he has a varis C/F hood and we swapped it onto mine as i was thinking of getting one, and it fitted perfectly.

These are all excellent ideas. I'll try adjusting the latch and alos moving the hood around a bit. I'll update with any progress, who knows maybe the hood is a defect.
